What it does

CureApp HT pairs a smartphone app for patients with a web app for physicians. Its official product page gives the intended use as adjunctive treatment of essential hypertension in adults, approval number 30400BZX00100000, and classification as a managed medical device; the physician app runs under Google Chrome's system requirements. The page names no operating system for the patient app and carries no store link, so only the web app is recorded.

Independent evidence

Established from a source other than the company.

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare's notice of 26 April 2022 lists the approval. The PMDA review report (review of 15 February 2022, deliberation of 9 March 2022) gives the term name supporting software for hypertension treatment, the intended use, and a condition to report post-marketing efficacy information every year. It describes the HERB trial in adults aged 20 to 64 with Grade I or II essential hypertension and no antihypertensive medication, whose primary endpoint (change in 24-hour ambulatory systolic blood pressure at week 12) showed a between-group difference of minus 2.4 mmHg (95% confidence interval minus 4.5 to minus 0.3).

What the company says

The company’s own statements, attributed to it and not presented as established fact.

The product page lists the national fee-schedule items it is billed under since June 2024 (a guidance fee of 90 points, an introductory addition of 50 points and a specific insurance material of 7,010 yen, once a month); the ministry's fee notice itself was not read.
