What it does

Qure.ai builds machine-learning software that reads medical images and marks findings for a radiologist to confirm. Its chest X-ray product, qXR, identifies abnormalities including lung nodules, pneumothorax and pleural effusion; a separate product reads head CT scans in emergency settings.

Read the full description

Chest radiography is among the most commonly performed imaging examinations, and in many settings it is read by clinicians who are not radiologists. That is the gap these products aim at: not replacing a report, but ordering a queue so that the films most likely to be abnormal are looked at first.

The company has obtained a series of FDA 510(k) clearances for specific indications. A clearance is a regulatory permission for a defined use, not a statement of comparative accuracy, and Recent HealthTech has not independently assessed the software's performance.
