What it does
Oura makes a finger-worn sensor and a companion app. The ring measures signals including heart rate, heart-rate variability, body temperature and movement, and the app reports them as daily sleep, activity and readiness summaries.

It sits in the consumer wellness category rather than the regulated medical-device one, and the distinction matters: the metrics are presented as insight into everyday health rather than as diagnosis. The form factor is the product's clearest differentiator: a ring is worn overnight far more willingly than a watch, which is precisely when the sleep data the product is built around has to be collected.
Oura's SEC registration statement (S-1/A, 21 September 2026) says the group completed a redomiciliation from Finland to the United States on 31 March 2026: Oura Inc., a Delaware corporation formed on 28 January 2026, is now the parent, and the Finnish predecessor, Oura Health Oy (incorporated in 2013 as JouZen Oy), is its subsidiary. The filing gives the headquarters as San Francisco and says a significant portion of the workforce is in Finland.
