What it does
A scale with a retractable handle, which turns a thirty-second weigh-in into a multi-signal measurement: weight and body composition, a six-lead ECG, an assessment of arterial stiffness, and a check of nerve activity in the feet.
It is a good example of a pattern worth studying, putting clinical-grade measurement inside an object people already step on daily, so the compliance problem solves itself. The corresponding design problem is what to do with a worrying reading taken by someone standing in a bathroom with no clinician nearby.
