What it does
Flo asks the user to log dates and symptoms and returns predictions for the next period and fertile window, switching modes for someone trying to conceive, pregnant, or tracking perimenopause.
Read the full description
The interface decision that carries the most weight is how confidently a prediction is stated. A cycle prediction is an estimate from sparse and irregular data, and a user may be making contraceptive decisions on the strength of it, so a number presented without its uncertainty is a design choice with consequences.
The app also holds data from which pregnancy, pregnancy loss and contraceptive use can be inferred, which makes its privacy controls part of the product rather than a settings screen.
